What is an Energy Performance Certificate?
An official certificate showing you the CO2 footprint of your home. It shows you how efficient your home is, how efficient it could be, and what you need to do to close the gap. EPCs are now required by law whenever a building is built, sold or rented.
EPCs are usually 6 pages long. They include full details of how your home has been assessed, what calculations have been made and how your home has been rated. You’ll get a rating for energy efficiency, and one for environmental impact, both showing current and potential performance as follows:
